Patterns in Nature
The daily capture of nature in a few minutes in a watercolor book had more than a few benefits. It wasn’t only grounding to document the world in this way, but the colors and natural patterns that began to form on their own brought the cyclical patterns to my awareness. Natures patterns, shapes and motifs showed up on the page before anyone could have explained them to me. They started to influence my mark-making through movement, whether wind was blowing the leaves that day or the ocean at high tide had a stronger pull with it’s ripples. I’m honoring the patterns that are already there, and sometimes pulling abstractions from colors and shapes that I see before me. In both, the inspiration comes from these marks. And there, my interest in surface/textile pattern design sparked.

Make it stand out
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
